Green Dial Rolex Datejust Review
If there is one color that the Rolex community can’t get enough of, it is green. Green is the iconic color of Rolex and every watch that has featured it is an instant classic. At Watches & Wonders, where Rolex launched their new 2022 watches, we witnessed the 41mm and 36mm Datejust collections receive the iconic Rolex green in a beautiful sunburst dial. Outside of the blue dial references, the Green Dial Rolex Datejust might be the first step for the brand to explore more colorful options.
It’s almost a running joke that each year Rolex will make subtle but almost unexpected changes to their collections. What surprised many is that it was almost universally requested that the mens Datejust watches have configurations available with a green dial. It was stunning to see the Green Dial Rolex Datejust released because it appears that the brand took direct feedback from the community.
So let’s chat about the watch. From personal experience, since I have owned the latest Datejust 41, I can attest to the quality, comfort, and overall satisfaction that the Datejust collection provides. Sadly I parted with mine but have been regretting that decision ever since. What makes the Datejust special is that there is a configuration for everyone. You can go flashy with the Jubilee and fluted bezel or more subtle with the Oyster bracelet and smooth bezel. They can be worn in both dress or casual environments and are sure to look beautiful 100% of the time.
Outside of the Submariner, the Datejust is the most recognizable watch in modern history and its design has remained untouched since its inception. The Green Rolex Datejust in either the 41mm or 36mm will continue to carry the torch of the many references that has earned the trust and respect that has elevated the collection to where it is today.
Available Configurations
The Green Dial Rolex Datejust is available in 8 different configuration that vary by case size, bezel type, and bracelet type. The available case sizes are 41mm and 36mm, optional bracelets are both the Oyster and Jubilee, and bezel types are either fluted white gold or smooth stainless steel.
Each combination provides a unique look that is guaranteed to be a fit for anyone interested in the Green Rolex Datejust. Let’s explore each of the available configurations for the Green Dial Rolex Datejust below.
In-House Calibre 3235
The automatic movement that powers the Green Rolex Datejust watches is the in-house calibre 3235. The 3235 is part of the new modern Rolex movements that features a 70 hour power reserve, improved anti-magnetic resistance, better shock absorption, and COSC certification.

Bracelet Options
The Datejust is known for being one of the best when it comes to bracelet construction, comfort, and design. We were happy to see that Rolex decided to launch the Green Rolex Datejust in both the Oyster and Jubilee bracelets.
The Oyster bracelet is a sportier option all while the Jubilee is more the traditional classic dress option. Either way, whichever one you choose you can’t go wrong with. I’ve owned Rolex watches with both bracelet types and they are each great for their own thing and neither are better than the other.
Green Dial Datejust Pricing & Availability
The price of the Green Rolex Datejust ranges from $7,250 MSRP for the 36mm all stainless steel reference up to $10,000 MSRP for the 41mm stainless steel white gold fluted bezel version.
Expect to see the Green Rolex Datejust hit authorized dealers in the spring of 2022 but we don’t anticipate to see them in the cases available for purchase. At the moment there is a shortage in Rolex watches and waitlists are common for most models. With this being a watch that feature the iconic Rolex green, expect a lengthy waitlist that could last up to 2 years.

Summary
Overall I am very excited about the Green Rolex Datejust. Introducing more colors in their collections seem to be a trend that is rewarding Rolex and it’ll be fun to see how far they take it. Even if you take away the Rolex Green Dial, both the Datejust 41 and 36 are dream watches that could easily make up a one watch collection. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of these, congratulations to you. It’ll be a reference that will be an instant classic and one that will increase in value for years to come.
