Green Omega Seamaster 300m: The Best New 2022 Omega Watch

Get to know the new 2022 Green Omega Seamaster 300m diver. This release has been highly anticipated and might be the best new Omega 2022 watch.

New 2022 Green Omega Seamaster 300m Diver

It is finally here! Omega has released the highly anticipated Green Omega Seamaster 300m Diver! This reference has been requested by the Omega community for years and has been a part of our Omega predictions as well. It appears as if Omega has listened and has given us a stunning green reference of the 300m diver.

At first glance the deep green appears very striking. It is a unique shade of green that is different than what many would compare it to, the Hulk. What will be very interesting is to see how the Green Omega Seamaster 300m changes in different lighting conditions. This is because the ceramic dial reflects light in different ways depending on the lighting conditions. My black dial SMP 300m often appears white believe it or not.

We’re going to bring you this information and more shortly. Moyer Fine Jewelers has been very generous and are allowing us to do a full hands on review of the Green Omega Seamaster 300m diver once the watches hit the store. Stay tuned for that on our website and our YouTube channel.

The Omega Calibre 8800 is powering this watch, the case dimensions are the same, materials are still stainless steel, and the bracelet is unfortunately still not tapered. Other than the green dial and bezel combination, nothing else has changed with the Seamaster 300m collection. Other than the non-tapered bracelet, it’s hard to find fault with the Green Seamaster 300m. It checks all the boxes of what you’d want in a dive and tool watch all while being one of the most beautiful watches in production today.

So we asked ourselves, “What will the demand be for this watch”. It will be very likely that the Green Omega Seamaster 300m will be difficult to find for a while. Omega has risen in popularity to the point where dealers don’t have to discount the watches anymore. The waitlist will probably be lengthy to start but will diminish over time. As far as value retention, Omega has been doing better as of late and if the demand matches the anticipation for the green SMP 300m, there might be a premium for this watch on the pre-owned market.

Overall the Green Omega Seamaster 300m is an excellent watch that has tapped into the fad of green watches beautifully. Omega might have been late to the party with this one but it’s better late than never.

The Obvious Comparison To The Rolex Submariner Hulk

Already the Seamaster 300m collection is often compared to the Submariner and some even crown it as a better watch. A Green version of the 300m is only going to fuel those fires even more because Omega is taking a direct shot a the Rolex Hulk demand. We’ve seen many brands try to capitalize on the green look, often imitating part of the Hulk. In my opinion, most, if not all, have been unsuccessful. This new 2022 release by Omega though has really nailed it.

Priced at 1/4 of what a Rolex Hulk is, the Green Omega Seamaster 300m is a great value buy at $5,400 for the stainless steel bracelet and $5,100 for the silicon strap reference. If you compared both of these watches on a spec sheet, the clear winner would be the Green SMP 300m. The master chronometer movement alone would propel this watch to the top, not even including the well executed modern design of the watch. Although the Hulk is great, if the crown wasn’t on the dial I doubt that it would be fetching a $26,000 pre-owned price tag. Now the market has a suitable alternative from a well established brand from a collection that many think is taking the crown of being the best dive watch. We all win with the new Green Seamaster 300m.

What The Release Of The Green Omega Seamaster 300m Tells Us About Omega

This is the second time in a year that we have seen Omega release a watch with the feedback from the community in mind. Last year we saw the new Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch get updated with many features that people have been hoping for a long time. The same has happened with the Green Seamaster 300m diver. Green is a very hot color in the watch world, especially dive watches. Omega has appeared resistant for some time but has finally done it.

These two examples tell us that Omega is building its brand and watches based on what buyers want. I credit the recent success of the brand to Omega listening to the market and delivering fine quality timepieces.

Pricing & Availability

The new Green Omega Speedmaster 300m diver costs $5,400 MSRP on the stainless steel bracelet and $5,100 for the rubber strap. Don’t expect to be able to walk right into an Omega dealer and pick up one of these from the case. These new green references are likely to be on a waitlist. If you’re wanting to purchase one of these watches, I’d recommend growing your relationship with your local Omega authorized dealer. I wouldn’t be surprised if these watches are reserved for their best clients.
