Yes, we’ve all been craving more watch releases after the unfortunate events that have happened around Baselworld. This past weekend at Watches & Wonders, we were introduced to some new winners and some watches that missed the mark. One thing that we can confidently say is that the Jaeger LeCoultre new watches released for 2020 stole the show.
JLC, aka The Watchmakers Watchmaker, decided to give their Master Control Collection an updated look, even though it’s quit similar, and most excitingly 4 new improved movements. That isn’t to say that the previous movements needed upgraded, Jaeger LeCoultre is again pushing the envelope of the world of watchmaking once again.
Let’s take a closer look at the Jaeger LeCoultre new Master Control Collection watches for 2020.
JLC Master Control Date
Within the JLC Master Collection, the Master Control Date is the most simplistic watch in the lineup but that shouldn’t take anything away from this masterpiece. The new JLC Master Control Date was upgraded with a new movement that has a 70hr power reserve, new case design, and a new calfskin leather strap. These refreshing updates, the strap and movement have really improved the fit and functionality. The JLC Master Control Date has a MSRP of $6,700.
JLC Master Control Calendar
Maybe the most recognizable JLC, at least to me, the JLC Master Control Calendar just exudes all the best that horology has to offer. The design alone is just perfect. JLC has done a wonderful job incorporating so many complications in a dial that somehow doesn’t look busy, just amazing. Powering this watch is the new Calibre 866AA JLC in-house movement. This 70hr power reserve is responsible for operating the following functions, hour/minute/second hands, date, month, day, and moonphase. JLC Master Control Chronograph Calendar
The JLC Master Control Chronograph Calendar is a brand new watch within the Master Control Collection. What JLC has done is combined two of their favorite watches into one and it has my vote for one of the top 10 new watch releases for 2020. If you couldn’t make your mind up between the triple calendar or the chronograph, JLC just made the decision much easier for you. The new JLC Master Control Chronograph Calendar was launched with the new in-house calibre 759. This new calibre by JLC has a 65hr power reserve that powers a 30 minute chronograph and all the functions of a triple calendar. The JLC Master Control Chronograph Calendar is can be purchased for MSRP of $14,500.
JLC Master Control Geographic
Jaeger LeCoultre is flexing its horological muscles with the new JLC Master Control Geographic 2020 release. This new JLC watch is a modern marvel for any world traveler who appreciates the the finer luxuries. The JLC Master Control Geographic has the ability to track 24 different times zones and simultaneously a second timezone as well. This watch may be on the grail list for most collectors and we can totally see why. Pricing isn’t available yet.
