The New Rolex Submariner 41
The new Rolex Submariner 41 was definitely the highlight of this year’s 2020 Rolex releases. In a year that has left a lot of people underwhelmed, it was great to see a new watch make such a big splash. It’s been roughly 10 years since we’ve seen any updates to the Submariner so we’ve been a bit overdue. The reaction to this years releases by Rolex seemed like it’s been a bit of a mixed bag. That has slightly irked us because the Submariner is a top 3 watch design of all time and to release a new updated version of that is a monumental event. In this article we’ll discuss the updates to the dimensions, upgraded movements, and the new models.
Rolex Submariner 41 Case And Bracelet Dimensions
Overall we really like what we’ve seen so far with the new case and bracelet design. Although the updated dimensions of the new Rolex Submariner 41 have been up for debate, our prediction is that once users put one on, they’ll love it.
The case on the new Rolex Submariner 41 has seen an increase in the case diameter to 41mm, hence the name. The lugs on the case have also been slimmed down a bit. This update seems to fall in line with what most Rolex enthusiasts have been asking for years. From our observations, the Rolex Submariner 41 seems to wear a little bit smaller even though the case diameter has slightly increased. The redesign of the lugs have made a huge difference on how the watch sits on the wrist.
New Movements For The Rolex Submariner 41
The Rolex Submariner 41 has been upgraded with two new movements to the model. The No Date Submariner 41 is housed with the in-house calibre 3230 which is a new movement to Rolex. The Date Submariners were upgraded with the in-house calibre 3235 movement, which was introduced in 2018. The most important update for the new Submariner movements is that they now how a 70 hour power reserve.

Notable 2020 Releases For The Rolex Submariner 41
Maybe one of the most noticeable changes to the new Rolex Submariner 41 models is what didn’t make the list. It didn’t take long for enthusiasts to find that the Submariner Hulk wasn’t part of the 2020 lineup. This sent joy and despair throughout the watch community. If you had the Hulk, your watches value just skyrocketed. If you’re like me and was on the wait-list, you were severely disappointed.
Even though the Hulk is now discontinued, we were introduced to some new really enjoyable models.
Rolex Submariner Kermit
The Rolex Submariner Kermit 126610LV is the ceramic variation of the previous aluminum bezel Kermit. The introduction of the Cermit was definitely a surprise to the 2020 Rolex releases but one I think fans will really gravitate toward. It might be a little early for another green Submariner considering a lot of peoples favorite, the Hulk, was just discontinued but hey at-least we are getting new models this year.
Blue Bezel – Black Dial (No Nickname Yet)
To match the Cermit, Rolex introduced another colorful bezel on a black dial Submariner. This is an interesting addition to the 2020 lineup because the Smurf was discontinued but this variant was introduced. The only visual change between the two is that instead of having a blue dial, the white gold precious medial Submariner now has a black dial.
